In 2001, HYVE conducted an online customer integration concerning the Swarovski product "Crystal Tattoos". Online advertisements were placed on international fashion websites to recruit participants. After a short survey about their preferences concerning Crystal Tattoos the participants were invited to take part in a design contest. In this contest the participants created their personal motives by using a HYVE Toolkit that tracked the amount and kind of crystals used. In addition to the 800 motives created, the online tool provided Swarovski with precious information about the prefered colours and shapes of their crystal range.
